PLAYER STRUCTURE
The eLeague of Ireland features 20 players in total.
8 INVITED PLAYERS
Players who have previously reached the playoffs are invited directly.
2 EFAI CUP QUALIFIERS
The top performers from the eFAI Cup earn their place in the league.
10 OPEN QUALIFIER SPOTS
Open to eligible players across Ireland, targeting roughly 64 signups. These players battle for the remaining places in the eLeague of Ireland.
COMPETITION FORMAT & TIMELINE
The eLeague of Ireland runs across three stages.
STAGE 1: OPEN QUALIFIER
Timing: End of January, following the eFAI Cup finals.
- Open signups, targeting 64 players.
- Played over a single weekend.
- Matches are not streamed, focused on competition.
- Top players progress into the league phase.
STAGE 2: LEAGUE PHASE
Timing: February – mid March.
- 6 game weeks of competition.
- Game Week 1 hosted at the National Esports Centre.
- Game Weeks 2–6 played online.
- All league weeks streamed for viewers.
- Group stage format, with the top 8 players qualifying for finals.
STAGE 3: FINALS AT AVIVA
Timing: End of March.
- Offline finals held at the Aviva Stadium.
- All finals matches streamed for viewers.
- 8 players enter the playoffs.
- 1 champion is crowned eLeague of Ireland winner.
- This winner will guarantee a spot to compete in the eChampions League.
VENUES
The eLeague of Ireland combines dedicated esports infrastructure with Ireland’s most iconic sporting venue.
NATIONAL ESPORTS CENTRE
Host venue for Game Week 1, providing a professional esports environment for players and broadcast teams at the start of the Stage 2: League Phase.
AVIVA STADIUM
The iconic stage for the eLeague of Ireland finals, where eight players compete offline and one champion secures their spot on the world stage at the eChampions League.
